Privacy Policy

Effective July 17, 2026 · Version 1.0 · Early access

This policy describes Trestly’s early-access practices. It should be reviewed by qualified Canadian privacy counsel before a commercial launch, clinic integration, or material expansion.

1. Our role

Trestly is a family progress-tracking service operated from British Columbia, Canada. We are responsible for personal information in our custody or control. Contact us at info@usetrestly.com for privacy questions, access requests, corrections, or deletion requests.

2. Information we collect

We collect the information needed to provide the service, including:

3. Why we use it

We use this information to create and operate your private tracker, store and display your content, provide account support, protect the service, respond to requests, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use child information for advertising.

4. Parent and guardian consent

Only a parent, legal guardian, or another person authorized to provide a child’s information may create a Trestly account and add that information. We request explicit acceptance of our Terms and this Privacy Policy when an account is created.

5. Service providers and storage

We use Firebase and Google Cloud services to provide authentication, database storage, website hosting, and document storage. These providers process information on our behalf to operate the service. Data may be processed in the region selected for our Firebase and Google Cloud services and, depending on those services, in other jurisdictions. We will update this policy if our hosting arrangements materially change.

6. Sharing

We do not share a family’s tracker with a clinic, therapist, school, or another family simply because they are named in the account. We may disclose information only with your direction or consent, to service providers operating Trestly, when legally required, or when necessary to protect people or the service as permitted by law.

7. Safeguards

We use account authentication and access rules designed to limit access to each family’s data, including private document storage. No system is completely secure, so please choose a strong, unique password and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain your active tracker information while your account remains open. You may request account and data deletion through the service or by contacting us. When deletion is completed, we remove active account data and uploaded files, subject to limited retention required for legal, security, or backup purposes. Provider backups are retired according to their normal schedules.

9. Your privacy rights

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you or your child, withdraw consent where applicable, or request deletion. Contact info@usetrestly.com. We may need to verify that a requester is authorized before acting on a request.

10. Updates and concerns

We may update this policy as Trestly changes. For material changes, we will provide notice and request updated acceptance where required. If we cannot resolve a privacy concern, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
